Acer pictum (Painted Maple or Batwing Maple), Acer circinatum (Vine Maple), & Acer sieboldianum
OTHER MAPLE OFFERINGS
One of these species is the Pacific Vine Maple, which is closely related to the Japanese maple but instead is native to the west coast of the United States. Another Pacific Northwest native, the bigleaf maple, offers a handful of unique varieties that are garden-worthy. Another popular maple species for landscaping is the Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum). Painted maples (Acer pictum) and stripe-bark maples like the hybrid Acer conspicuum are a couple of the many additional species we commonly have available.
SELECTING A UNIQUE MAPLE
Although many of these maple species are hardy to Zone 4 or 5, some are susceptible to sun scald–especially those with lighter-colored twigs. Check the hardiness zone map to see if it will perorm well in your region, and review the sun/shade requirements to make sure it will be a good fit for your garden. Whatever you are looking for, we are sure to have a spectacular maple that will meet your needs. Reach out to us for helpful suggestions or recommendations if you just cannot decide!
